Co-founder and Managing Director of Harley Street Care, Adam’s involvement in the care industry stemmed from a direct family experience with home care. He observed the importance of home care and the positive impact it has on service users, yet also felt that certain aspects of agency care could be vastly improved without making it unaffordable.
Adam graduated from the University of Central England with a Bachelor of Arts. His previous professional experience was primarily in the hospitality and leisure industries, and he has always prided himself on carrying those fundamentals of quality customer service into Harley Street Care.
Adam is married with a daughter, and in his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, keeping fit, watching and playing football and considers himself a film buff.
Shareholder and Co-Founder
Lesley John is a shareholder and the spiritual founder and of Harley Street Care. Lesley first identified the need for a care agency that combines a top class service with an ethical approach to how its staff are treated after she had first-hand experience of a loved one requiring care. Seeing just how hard carers are pushed to provide quality care, often for little reward and under increasingly difficult circumstances, highlighted the need for an agency with a different approach.
Prior to Harley Street Care, Lesley had a career in education spanning nearly 50 years, and specialised in working with children who have special needs or other learning difficulties. She now spends a large part of her time volunteering for various charity projects in the UK and overseas, and regularly raises money for good causes.
When not helping those in need, Lesley enjoys ceramics/pottery, visiting museums and spending time with her family. She has two children and four grandchildren.
Director and Shareholder
Josh joined his brother, Adam, at Harley Street Care in 2014 as an investor and partner to the business. Josh came to the Company with a background in E-Commerce and online services, having had success with a number of online start-ups. It’s a combination of Josh’s new-age way of thinking, coupled with his meticulous attention to detail that make him an invaluable asset to the Company. Josh currently heads up Administration Management within the Company, although he is also a key figure in Online Business Development.
Home care for loved ones has a personal significance to Josh, and it’s this experience and understanding that has helped Harley Street Care tailor a more person-centred and compassionate service.
Josh studied history at The University of Sheffield, and considers it one of his hobbies, whether through travel, reading or theatre. Josh is also an avid Formula 1 fan, and a car enthusiast in general.
Head of Operations
Dominic John is Head of Operations at Harley Street Care. Dominic has a background in finance, corporate governance and compliance, and joined us in May 2016. He is responsible for business development and overseeing the smooth day to day running of the Company. Dominic got involved in care because he feels the sector is crying out for an agency which operates in an ethically sound manner, while also providing a first class service. He previously spent 10 years with an innovative cleantech business, and is now ready to help the home care industry clean up its act!
Dominic is married with two children, and when he’s not working hard at the office, enjoys playing badminton, watching football and socialising with friends.
Violeta Latviene is the Registered Care Manager at Harley Street Care. Violeta’s journey in care started in Lithuania looking after her Grandfather, and has taken her from the roll of care assistant to that of registered manager, and all points in between.
As a Housing 21 carer, Violeta came to understand the needs of both client and carer through direct involvement with both parties. This first-hand experience pushed her to find more effective solutions to the various issues she encountered.
Violeta used the experience she gained and went on to successfully manage the Reablement department for one of the largest care companies in the UK, Allied Health Care. Subsequent to that she was Registered Manager with Blue Bird Care, where she gained valuable experience in compliance and the implementation of new procedures which were central to the delivery of high quality care. This is something Violeta continues to deliver with HSC.
Violeta has a level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care with distinction, and is also a Dementia Champion.
Outside of care Violeta’s greatest passion are her dogs, which she breeds and exhibits. She enjoys music, the theatre and travelling, and is also a committed vegetarian and bit of a foodie.
Carer Support & Administration Manager
Asharie Hanson is Carer Support & Administration Manager at Harley Street Care. Asharie decided to get involved in the sector because her family have been involved in health and social care for three generations, and she grew up watching her mother provide care to elderly neighbours who needed support.
Asharie’s career in healthcare began as a dental nurse, where she loved learning about the medical side of the role, but the patient-nurse interactions left her feeling unfulfilled. She left that role and, following a brief stint working for local community projects, joined HSC as a carer.
Since joining HSC, Asharie has gone from strength to strength, and is now responsible for recruiting and looking after our ever growing team of carers. She is the first point of contact for carer-related matters, and having worked as a carer, Asharie understands how best to support and motivate the team. Whether she’s chasing for timesheets or handing out prizes for Carer of the Month, Asharie gets it all sorted with a smile.
Outside of the office Asharie enjoys exploring nature, drawing and meeting new people.
